Pain & Gain Movie 2013

Release Date: 26 April 2013 (USA)

About This Movie

Pain and Gain is a true story, sort of. The script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely is based from a series of Pete Collins articles, originally published in the Miami New Times, about the Sun Gym gang. In the mid-1990's these dim-bulb Florida bodybuilders, led by gym manager Danny Lugo (Mark Wahlberg), came up with something rare for them (and Bay) – an idea. Kidnap and extort a rich client, Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub). To help, Danny brings in two besties: personal trainer Adrian (Anthony Mackie) and ex-con Paul (Dwayne Johnson), an alcoholic recovering with the help of Jesus. It's a promising story that deserved more than a Bay botch job. Good actors are trapped in Bay's toxic bubble, forced to make farce out of a scary, real-life situation. In between scenes of the muscleheads torturing their victim, Bay indulges his taste for treating women as sluts and grisly brutality as a nifty excuse for a cheap laugh. Pain and Gain is personal all right. You leave these characters with the distinct impression that they're Bay's kind of people. But I did learn something from Pain and Gain. The next time Bay bars me from screening, I'll realize he's really doing me a favor.

A Good Day to Die Hard Movie

Release Date: 14 February 2013 (USA)

Genre: Action | Crime | Thriller

IMDB Rating: 5.5/10 from 49,376 users

Director: John Moore

Writers: Skip Woods, Roderick Thorp (certain original characters)

Stars: Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Sebastian Koch

About This Movie

In the first few minutes of A Good Day to Die Hard, the fifth, loudest and the most wearisome part of the franchise, we meet Yuri Komarov (Sebastian Koch), a bespectacled gent with a shabby beard in high-alert confinement, playing chess with himself. He plays himself because apparently, it’s what super-villains do.

Komarov, whose personal profile reads billionaire, whistle blower and political prisoner, is a threat to world order (especially Russia); having secreted a file that incriminates corrupt politician Viktor Chagarin (Sergei Kolesnikov)  another villain, if you are yet to guess despite of the pricey suit he’s wearing.

In a separate incident – one that apparently makes no sense of space, timing and momentum, when it pops into the picture ; Jack McClane (Jai Courtney), John McClane’s estranged son, assassinates someone, but makes a deal to testify against Komarov.

As he is clinging to his life while his estranged daughter Gem ponders on taking him off life support, Thomas' mind enters a fantasy world where he relives his life as a ten-year-old orphan. After meeting a girl named Ann at the orphanage and acquiring a snow globe containing a dancing figurine named "Arabesque", young Thomas befriends a snowman named "Mr. White", who takes him on a flight to the skies. But during the voyage, Thomas loses his balance and falls into a surreal world bordered by a run-down roller coaster track. There, he meets a younger version of Gem and a 72-year-old Ann, who warn him about Mr. White. Thomas runs to a "dollhouse", where he sees himself and Ann in their 30s, as members of a band. Fast and Furious 6

About this Movie

Fast & Furious 6 (alternatively known as Fast Six) is an action film written by Chris Morgan and directed by Justin Lin. It is the sixth installment in the Fast and the Furious film series. The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Chris Bridges, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and John Ortiz. Fast & Furious 6 follows a professional criminal gang led by Dominic Toretto (Diesel) who have retired following their successful heist in Fast Five (2011), but remain wanted fugitives. U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) offers to clear the group's criminal records and allow them to return home in exchange for helping him to take down a skilled mercenary organization led by Owen Shaw (Evans) and his second in command, Dominic's presumed-dead lover Letty Ortiz (Rodriguez).

Fast & Furious 6 was in development by February 2010 as the first film in the series to move away from the underground car-racing theme of the series' previous films which was considered to have placed a barrier on audience numbers. Pre-production had begun by April 2011, and principal photography began in London, England in July 2012. Filming locations also included the Canary Islands, Glasgow, and Los Angeles. The film is scheduled for release on May 24, 2013.
